About the Lecture
The past few years, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated lockdowns and restrictions, had its unique stressors like anxieties, uncertainties, various losses, social isolation, the passing of loved ones, and feelings of powerlessness, among other things. In the world of work, numerous recent articles talk about terms like “languishing” and “quiet quitting,” where employees may not necessarily exhibit clinical depression or full-scale burnout but feel listless, empty, disconnected and neutral, doing just the minimum to get through the day. Interest in mental health is also experiencing a resurgence worldwide, and its importance is increasingly recognized and emphasized. During difficult times in his life, Carl Jung paid particular attention to his own daily mental health, as evident from some of his letters, diaries and personal reflections. Instead of in-depth analysis (which Jung also did), this talk would focus on some everyday methods and techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into our daily practice of mental hygiene. We will explore a variety of practical strategies and usable tools.
